Description : Intelligent Triac Controller

Description
The MLX90805 is a power control IC ideally suited for control of any resistive or inductive load regulated by a Triac.
The chip was designed primarily for starting and speed control of AC motors, but will work equally well with any Inductive or resistive load such as Incandescent lights.
The chip’s primary purpose is to provide a “soft start” for a motor, preventing current inrush. The Triac is controlled by a linear “ramp” from minimum to maximum power. Start rate can be varied from 0.5 sec. to 3 sec, by changing the option bits.
The secondary function of the 90805 is proper ignition of the Triac for inductive and resistive loads, while keeping the Triac’s current consumption to a minimum.
Added features include a frequency locked loop for stable ignition point.

General Description
The MAX17079 is a 7-channel logic-level input to high voltage output level shifter. Each channel has two inputs plus a shared enable input. Each channel has two outputs, which can be set to five output levels. Two outputs are complementary to each other. The five output levels are set by five supply rails that are common to all 14 outputs.
The five supply rails include a typical TFT VCOM rail. Two upper rails are always greater than VCOM, with VH1 always greater than VH2. The two lower rails are always less than VCOM, with VL1 always less than VL2. Other supply rails are VLS (the typical TFT AVDD supply) and VCC (the logic supply). The MAX17079 can also be configured as a two-level voltage shifter.

General Description
The MM74HC4049 and the MM74HC4050 utilize advanced silicon-gate CMOS technology, and have a modified input protection structure that enables these parts to be used as logic level translators which will convert high level logic to a low level logic while operating from the low logic supply. For example, 0–15V CMOS logic can be converted to 0–5V logic when using a 5V supply. The modified input protection has no diode connected to VCC, thus allow ing the input voltage to exceed the supply. The lower zener diode protects the input from both positive and negative static voltages. In addition each part can be used as a simple buffer or inverter without level translation. The MM74HC4049 is pin and functionally compatible to the CD4049BC and the MM74HC4050 is compatible to the CD4050BC.
