■ Overview

■ Overview
YDA137 (D-2) is a high efficient DIGITAL AUDIO POWER AMPLIFIER IC that operates on a single 5V POWER supply. With YDA137 in BTL connection, an AUDIO POWER AMPLIFIER with a maximum output of 5W (RL=2Ω )×2ch can be configured with one chip.
YDA137 converts an input analog data into a DIGITAL pulse by the DIGITAL modulation circuit in the IC and outputs a high current DIGITAL pulse from the output buffer circuit. This DIGITAL pulse signal is converted into an AUDIO signal by an external low-pass filter and is output to the speaker. Low-distortion rate characteristics and high S/N ratio are realized as a DIGITAL AMPLIFIER among same class, by adopting Yamaha’s unique modulation system.
In addition, class AB headphone AMPLIFIER with output of 20mW (RL=16Ω )×2ch is embedded and switching between DIGITAL AMPLIFIER output and headphone AMPLIFIER output can be done by the control of terminal termination. YDA137 has the over-current protection function for speaker terminals, the high-temperature protection function for IC, and the pop noise rejection function.

■Overview
YDA139 (D-4) is a DIGITAL AUDIO POWER AMPLIFIER IC with maximum output of 2.5W (RL=4Ω)×2ch. YDA139 has a “Pure Pulse Direct Speaker Drive Circuit” which directly drives speakers while reducing distortion of pulse output signal and reducing noise on the signal, and realizes the highest standard low distortion rate characteristics and low noise characteristics as the same class of output DIGITAL AMPLIFIER IC. In addition, circuit design with fewer external parts can be made depend on the condition of use because corresponds to filter less.
YDA139 has the POWER-down function which can minimize the POWER consumption in the standby state. In addition, high speed recovery function provided realizes recovery time within 1ms from the POWER-down state. Moreover, Over-current Protection function for speaker output terminals, IC Thermal Protection function, and POP Noise Reduction function are provided. YDA139 supports both DIGITAL signal input and analog signal input.

Outline
YDA135 is DIGITAL AUDIO POWER AMPLIFIER controller IC that is output POWER of 20W/channel on a 12V POWER supply operation.
This IC is combined with the general purpose POWER MOSFET (hereafter called POWER MOSFET) that are connected through BTL can configure an AUDIO POWER AMPLIFIER with output POWER of 5W or 20W. This IC accepts analog signal, converts it into DIGITAL pulse signal by the DIGITAL modulation circuitry and outputs the DIGITAL pulse signal for driving POWER MOSFET. The POWER MOSFET that is driven by this IC outputs large current DIGITAL pulses. The DIGITAL pulse signal is converted to AUDIO signal through an external low pass filter, and sent to the speakers.

By using a general purpose POWER MOSFET, very low cost DIGITAL AMPLIFIER system is configured. By adapting Yamaha's proprietary modulation system, the device provides low distortion and high signal to noise ratio at the highest level among DIGITAL AMPLIFIERs in the equiralent class.
This IC has the overcurrent detection function that detects overcurrent state by voltage drop of external resistors that detects the output current.
This IC has the high temperature detection function that detects high temperature by resistor value change of external element that detects temperature.

The operation of this IC is limited by using two control signal, SLEEP or MUTE. SLEEP signal stops all functions of this IC, and restrain to the POWER consumption at the minimum. MUTE signal brings POWER MOSFET into nonconductive state, and mute the output of the device.
This IC is configured by two POWER supply ; 5V for signal processing circuits, and 12V for POWER MOSFET driving circuits.
